Well, it’s s that time of year again.  Summertime in St. John’s always coincides with lots of fun events and this year is no exception.  Seraka is preparing heaps of exciting new pieces and reviving some old favorites for the upcoming performances as the Renaissance (I’m not going to say how many times it took me to spell that correctly… and by correctly I mean close enough for spell check to know what I meant) Fair and Heather’s show that Vanessa told you all about.  Those are just the ones we have planned so far – I’m sure there will be many more!

Unfortunately for me this time of year also means I’m not allowed to plan anything.  I have to caveat all my event responses with “if I’m not on a boat.”  For those of you who don’t know, my job as a Project Engineer – read Glorified Underwater Plumber – requires me to go offshore on boats in the summer months with minimal notice.  I tend to be migratory.

Luckily for me the rest of the Serakans are used to my migratory tendencies and we are easily adaptable to varying quantities of performers.  Quite handy as well when one of us ends up with the plague right before a performance… actually that might have been me as well.

So keep your fingers crossed for me being on dry land for some of our performances and the thrilling show we’re planning for the Fall – more about that later. You won’t want to miss it – and neither do I!
Cheers,
K
